Why is LUCID asking me to appoint an authorised representative?

Because your master data says your registered office is outside Germany. Since 12 August 2026 that means you must name a German representative in LUCID.

Quick answer

Because your master data says your company's registered office is outside Germany. ZSVR explains that under the PPWR and the VerpackDG such companies must appoint an authorised representative to fulfil their obligations in Germany, and must add it to their LUCID entry. The order matters: first sign a written mandate in German with a representative, then in LUCID click “Appoint an authorised representative” on the notice (or Edit on the “Authorised representative” tile), enter the representative's name or ID, tick the declarations and submit. The representative then confirms on its side.
