My Amazon or eBay listings were blocked for EPR, but I am registered in LUCID. Why?

Marketplaces check your number against the register. The usual causes: the number is not entered, the details do not match, or the LUCID registration is incomplete.

Quick answer

The marketplace checks your registration, not just whether you typed a number. Under Article 45(4) to (6) PPWR an online platform must obtain your registration details and make best efforts to assess whether they are complete and reliable. Check three things: that your LUCID number is entered in the platform's EPR section for Germany; that the company name and details in your seller account match your LUCID entry; and that your LUCID registration is complete. Since 12 August 2026 a producer based outside Germany must also have named its German authorised representative there.

Three things to check, in order

  1. Is the number where the platform looks for it? On Amazon, the “Compliance Information for Extended Producer Responsibility” portal; on eBay, Account settings › Business information › Extended producer responsibility; on Etsy, Shop Manager › Finances › Legal and tax information.
  2. Do the details match? The legal name in your seller account should be the one registered in LUCID, which you can look up in the public LUCID register.
  3. Is your LUCID registration complete? If your company is based outside Germany, the representative you appointed must be named in your entry and confirmed by ZSVR (§ 5(5) VerpackDG).

If all three are right, ask the platform's seller support to re-check. Other EU countries' numbers are a separate question: a listing can also be restricted in another country where you have no number.

Selling into Germany from abroad?

The new EU packaging law (PPWR) has applied since 12 August 2026. Four questions tell you whether it makes you appoint a representative in Germany — including when it does not.
