Is a LUCID number enough to sell on Amazon or Etsy in Germany?

It passes the marketplace check, not the law. You also need a dual-system licence and, if you are based abroad, a German representative.

Quick answer

It is enough to pass the marketplace check, not to comply. The LUCID number proves you registered. German packaging law also requires a dual-system licence for the packaging you ship (§ 7 VerpackDG) and, since 12 August 2026, a German authorised representative if your company has no establishment in Germany (§ 5(2) VerpackDG).
